I’ve fitted a HealTech ThunderBox to my Aprilia Tuareg 660 to give me a simple and tidy way of powering the bike’s electrical accessories. In this video I show the complete installation, including where I mounted the ThunderBox, how I connected it to the Tuareg, how I routed the wiring and how I connected my accessories. One particularly useful feature is the white wire. Rather than only powering the accessories when the engine is running, the white wire allows the ThunderBox to be triggered from a switched supply so the accessories can be powered with the ignition on, even when the engine isn’t running. That’s useful for things like setting up navigation, checking a GPS or Carpuride, charging a phone, or configuring accessories before starting the bike. In this video

This is the second part of my ThunderBox series. In the first video, I compare the ThunderBox with the other motorcycle accessory power-management options I considered and explain why I chose it for my Tuareg. Watch the comparison video: [LINK] If you’re considering fitting a ThunderBox to your own motorcycle, hopefully this gives you a useful look at what is involved before you start pulling the bike apart!
